House on the field Cultural Association

The House on the field Cultural Association was funded in 1996, then established a vocational training film school. Since then a very high standard teacher team had been involved and many students had graduated and find job in the film industry.

Our Association had applied many international tenders successfully (Equal Project, International Visegrad Fund etc.). We have been organizing several workshops, teacher exchanging and film-festivals with international partners for 9 years.

For many years we work together with international partners some projects: European Union - Leonardo da Vinci Program, Visegrad Fund Standard projects and the 3-years European project: EQUAL program.

We have some additional programs:  photo exhibition, international workshops, conference. During the Students’ Film Festival we organize conference in co-operation every year, and invite partner festivals. The programs of the Festival could be visited free of charge. We reimbursed the travel, accommodation and catering of participants from the countryside and abroad. We also cover the accommodation and catering costs of individuals involved in the organizing and carrying out of the festival.

2) SUPPORTING SHORT FEATURE FILMS, SENDING CREATIONS OF YOUNG FILMMAKERS ABROAD

Short feature and experimental films created by students in our Film School are increasing in number every year. In the past three years nearly 50 pieces of work have been created.

3) ORGANISING ARTISTIC WORKSHOPS

The number of participants in the annually organized summer and winter international“camp” is about 25 people a year. Participants came from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland.

The participants of the camps are young filmmakers, and students who participate in film maker training and gained significant achievement.

The goal of the camp is to give young filmmakers outdoor shooting experience with professional guidance during the intensive practice of the week.

These events have always been successful which is indicated by the multiple number of applicants to the places available. In the last years the programs of the workshops mainly consisted of screen-writing, shooting and editing which is was extended in 2010 with report-making, interviewing people.

The location is Balatonalmádi (HU). The participants have got the chance to shoot a film, and in projections they listened to presentations of the theory and the history of film and film making.

After the films shot we cut them in the studio of the workshop. The workshop helps the youth to gain practical knowledge of their chosen future profession, while during the outdoor shooting and editing activities they develop their practical skills.
